The CCTV images show the man outside school gates in Kings Norton, Birmingham
CCTV images have been released of a man who is believed to have been the last passenger of a taxi driver who died after being stabbed in the head. `
Mohammed Arshad, 36, was found injured in Wast Hills Lane in Kings Norton, Birmingham, on 22 July. He died in hospital the following morning.
Police believe the images show a man who called himself Peter when he rang A Cars, from Kings Norton.
The film shows the man walking towards a phone kiosk in Monyhull Hall Road. He called at 2019 BST, asking to be picked up from outside Broadmeadow School nearby and the film also shows him walking past the school gates.
Det Supt Shelia Thornes said: "We need to identify this man and would ask him to come forward so that we can eliminate him from our inquiry.
"I believe people who know him may recognise him from these images and if so I would appeal for them to contact the murder incident room immediately."
Mr Arshad, who worked as a self-employed driver for A Cars based in Pershore Road, collected the fare as requested outside the school at 2029 BST, she said.
Reward offered
Ms Thornes said seven minutes later a witness saw Mr Arshad's blue Ford Galaxy turning in Wast Hills Lane, before driving off towards Redhill Road.
Mr Arshad was found lying seriously injured in the lane, which is on the border of Birmingham and Worcestershire.
His car was found abandoned in nearby Shannon Road about an hour later.
West Mercia Police have offered a £10,000 reward for information which results in the arrest and conviction of the person who killed Mr Arshad.
The family of Mr Arshad have backed police appeals for help.
They have described Mr Arshad as a loving and caring man who was devoted to his three sons.
