29 Jul 2008 9:07 AM Alert

LAst Sunday morning I was attacked in my cab.  I'm not dealing with it very well at the moment and haven't managed to work properly since.

Basic details:

Location: A12 Gorleston, Gt Yarmouth

Picked up from the seafront to go to Southwold.  Guy fell asleep in the back of the car and then woke up about 10 mins later and decided that he wanted my money and my car.  He came at me from behing over my seat.  Trying to block out exactly what happened but I called a "13" twice and got no response ..... hit redial on car phone and office rejected call ......... the fat wanker that had radios/phones was too busy in the cafe eating his breakfast to worry about a female driver getting attacked!

Yes there was a weapon; no I'm not going into any more details.

Didn't have CCTV (but have now)

No Police action as still too scared to call them.

I need to get back in my cab but ....... I just can't!  I throw up driving to the end of my road.  Will I ever feel normal again?

I am sure all forum members will join me in saying how sorry we are to hear of your plight.

It will take time to get over this and you my never feel quite the same about the job, I think the c.c.t.v. will be of great help in you regaining your confidence and we wish you well in the future.

I do think that you should go to the police regarding the matter, anything that increase the chances of the bas*ard being brought to book has to be good and my stop him pulling the same stunt on another driver.

Why don't you get a proper job???

I am sure that everyone in the trade will wish you a speedy recovery, and hope that the assailant rots in hell.

But if only there was more use made of in-vehicle surveillance.  There are many systems avaiable, but you have easily have the most popular system used all round the world.  If you were to spread the word about the advantages of the equipment we can negotiate most attractive pricing as the volume of systems increases.  If you think I can help drop me a line at and I'll be pleased to assist.

Are you aware that the police in Gt Yarmouth are considering a pilot scheme to provide CCTV to drivers?
