well ordered second hand cab in august which was in stock they took 5 weeks to deliver it then sent it down with 4000 miles more than advertised and without a radio in it phoned them up about the radio which should have been sent to peugeot under warrenty was told unit was still up in scotland this was last monday. it just seems every time i phone up there's a sob story or a delay, there customer service stinks would not recomend them. my mate has just also had to deal with them delivery for a new vechile was over 2 months. something has gone wrong up there my mate tells me that to get his cab he's had to go through one of the managing directors. in other words DON'T GO TO CABDIRECT

Quite simply , I have done some really stupid things in the past that I have regreted for years, but I think that my biggest mistake EVER was to buy the new Peugeot E7 back in Nov 2007.
I consider this vehicle to be grossly overpriced, of extremely poor build quality, Parts breaking down immediately after delivery, The wheelchair clamping system is actually dangerous to the wheelchair user and should be completely redesigned,I have found both peugeot and cab direct to be very evasive and non commital, bordering on slippery eels , Peugeot will try to escape liability at every corner and the 2 year peugeot warranty is not actually correct as most components have a very short milage limit and then the broken part is not covered. When I have more time I will list all the faults from day 1 and the response from either CD or Peugeot.
For example. The clutch is guaranteed for just 20K miles !!!!!!! and then the replacement cost of over £700 is down to you. Most cabs working only 1 shift per day will do this milage in less that 6 months.
My E7 is not yet 2 years old and has had 4 clutches from new. My opinion is that the clutch plate is not man enough to pull 8 people.
The list that I post soon makes quite frightening reading, including the handbrake cable snapping whilst parked on a hill !!!!
Most of the problems I have not experienced with any car before.
So to finish this post: My advice is : If you want a reliable, tough and well built taxi. DO NOT BUY THE NEW MODEL PEUGEOT E7.
P.S. I told Peugeots area manager that I was going to start warning people about this death trap called an E7, and her reaction was complete disinterest.

your not the only horror story i have heared ,i spoke to a very distraught unhappy owner of a late model E7 only to be told he is currently trying to hand his (headache)back to cab direct and is also suing cab direct for not making a product (fit for purpose)afer loosing so much time off the road and even having to get the so called taxi recovered back to glasgow then to have the cab driven back to his home on his own fuel without any hint of a goodwill gesture,so the conclusion seems [if you happen to have a good E7,RELIABILITY WISE ] you are lucky, you dont have to resort to after market service or just give up and keep your experience to yourself or you might struggle to sell it!
