In the area we live in the taxi enforcer is out most weekends trying to catch PH vehicles picking up clients without prior booking. I am a new driver and have only been driving for 6 months. In September I picked up some passangers from a pub which were not pre booked and was caught by the enforcer, I held my hand up and admitted I was in the wrong, mainly because I was wet behind the ears and following the crowd (I would say most of the drivers do this in the area we live in), so since then I have only been doing pre booked work. Two weeks ago I was pulled again by the enforcer they did a vehicle check and I though that would be it but no even though I had a legal booking on my screen and the passengers made the booking in the pub the enforcer and police offer didn't believe my and on the suspcion that the booking was made the the car they seized my car for the whole weekend, that meant no income for the weekend, £170 to get the car back and a £70 taxi ride to get the paperwork stamped. Also the authority has decided to send me to court over the case and I am waiting for the letter and to cap it all a picture of my car has appeared in the local newpaper with an article about get in the PH vehicles with pre booking them. It you know of a good solicitor who deals with taxi driver I could sure do with the name and number.
Also we got a call through the radio last night the we could all clear the nightclub surley this is the same as picking up from a pub and PH vechicles would not be insured for this work as it is also not pre-booked.
I am at my wits end can anyone help with some ideas.
Thanks

You are only getting what you deserve. You have a PH licence, you are not HACKNEY. So stop pretending!
I am a licensed PH serving Beds/Bucks/Northants borders and a Hackney license for any of the three councils would not suit.
I find thst i have established a niche within a 5 mile radius which works for me.
Research your Market and find what works for you.
I run a 2.2 DIESEL MONDEO 6 SPEED. I get an airport every day on average and only do late night pickups from known customersS .
this works for me
