Hi,
I've just applied for a Private Hire Drivers License in my area, and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what the theory test conducted by the council will be like? How much knowledge are you expected to have?
I'd also be interested if anyone has any advice about the best way to learn the area.
The way I'm learning at the moment is just driving around and getting to know the road names. I'm fairly certain that if I've driven down a road more than once I'll remember it.

Ask yer council!
Your doing the right thing, driving round and getting to know the road names but you can also study a street atlas and go through it A -to-Z remembering where roads are, worked for me way back when

Cheers nightowl...
I'm still waiting for the bloody council to process my application, so it looks like I'll have plenty of time to learn the streets.

They have sent me a list of about 300 places I need to know. So that's my question answered
300 isn't too bad I don't think.

If anyone is interested.. I finally got my test and I passed.
The test was far easier than I imagined. There was some rather ridiculous questions which made me smile as well.
