Swansea Private Hire Association retain Jeffreys solicitors for its legal advice and representation.
Swansea Private Hire Association has taken active steps to protect the interests of its members by signing up to an annual retainer with Jeffreys solicitors.
The Association is made up of drivers and owner-drivers at Yellow Cabs Swansea. Yellow Cabs is the largest operator in the City with a mixed fleet of 160 vehicles, 200 drivers and two offices strategically placed for maximum coverage, with a third office about to open at the City’s impressive new Liberty Stadium.
As a result of the retainer, competing sections of the trade in Swansea will have to instruct a different firm of solicitors on any taxi licensing issues that might conflict with the aims and objectives of Swansea Private Hire Association. In addition, Swansea Private Hire Association and its members can obtain general legal advice whenever there is a licensing or road traffic issue that needs to be dealt with there and then. The advice line is available 24/7, so that a driver, proprietor or operator can make an on the spot call and obtain on the spot general advice without the need to wait until the following morning (or in the case of a weekend, until Monday morning).
Wayne Harris, proprietor of Yellow Cabs and Chairman of the Association had this to say, “knowing that we have retained a solicitor who specialises in Hackney Carriage & Private Hire licensing law gives me and the other association members peace of mind. It’s akin to taking out insurance cover or signing up for breakdown cover with the AA or RAC. You may never need it, but if you do it is only a phone call away.
Keith Jeffreys, our main point of contact, has a proven track record throughout the length and breadth of England & Wales for dealing in taxi licensing matters and has given us excellent advice in the past.
Many of the cases that he has dealt with are well documented and have been reported in the Times Law Reports and Road Traffic Reports. As an association we wanted this to be a long-term relationship and feel confident that the retainer fee will prove to be money well spent. We see little point in collecting subscription fees if at the end of the day we are not going to make those subscription fees work for us. Just one piece of advice could benefit the Association and its members by thousands of pounds at any one time”.
