what are the licencing regulations in regards to executive chauffeur cars and its drivers.
I am in the process of adding a mercedes e320 to my private hire fleet and its not to be used for general taxi work, only pre-booked jobs, weddings etc and at a higher rate than normal fares [more exclusive]
Will it need to be plated and if so will I have to display the plates. as i heard that london exec drivers dont have too.
Will the drivers need to be badged, what if i take a booking from outta my current licensing area for example a wedding or chauffeur job? I have asked the local council (Abingdon) for advice but the advice they gave was very vague indeed.
can anyone on here give me a pointer in the right direction, im finding it hard to even find somewhere on the internet the legislation i need to read upon to help.

In London regs are the same as PH indeed considerd the same.A few vehicles can be allowed no badging, normally on security issues, like when working for the Sultan. Non badged vehicles will NOT have access to bus lanes or red routes in London. Your LO is oblidged to give you details of all requirments.

click onthe link below as it takes you to another post on here which gives the ins and outs on the subject of licensing ph.
sample of the below link second paragraph........ If you look at the dated legislation governing hackney carriages and omnibuses you will notice that the words "plying for hire" encompass practically every type of licensed hire or reward passenger conveyance, imaginable? Therefore it is understandable that any vehicle not licensed under the terms of these outdated acts, such as private hire vehicles, could in the main only be successfully prosecuted under the offence of plying for hire or reward without a license.

in barnsley and Rotherham i believe the limo industry as or is trying to become legislated. but in Rotherham is a member of the Limousine association so im not sure if its the association itself that is pushing it through to protect its own industry from cowboys, if thats the case then thats a good thing in my eyes
