Hi All,
First time poster, and private hire driver on the sunny Wirral.
I have a query and am looking to find some advise.
I am looking to buy a newer Octavia and plate it, and have been trying to find a supplier of GAP Insurance. It can be called different things but basically if you buy a car for say £10,000 and in 2 years time you right it off and the insurers say its worth £3,000 (after racking up 80,000 in our cases!!), the GAP Insurance will pay you back the other £7,000 and you get your money back.
I'm bothered because I had a private car written off a few years ago, and I had it then and it was a godsend. An obviously in a taxi the depreciation is much higher with the mileage we do, so I really want to find a supplier. For normal cars its really easy, but for private hire??
I have been told there is a site that does it for circa £300 for 3 year cover, and you can pay it off over 12 months , but can I find it, so has anyone else heard of this or any other providers?
Thanks guys
