Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me with a question please?
I run a taxi fare calculator website which helps people calculate what a taxi should cost from a to b.
The strange thing that I cannot seem to understand is why the website gets many many more hits from Monday to Friday than on the weekend?
I would have thought that the busiest time for taxis is on the weekend? So why is my site busiest during the week?
Any thoughts/ideas would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Trev

Trev,
Not really surprising when you think during the week you get:
- significantly more business users
- general weekday/night travel requirements
- people pre-planning their weekends activities
Whereas at the weekend you tend to only get weekend traffic... because if you're not going out at the weekend, you've got better things to do than plan travel requirements for the upcoming week. That's what Mondays are for... surely!?!
On taxinumber.com we typically see a 10-15% dip on a Saturday and a further 5-10% dip on a Sunday. It's been the same for years!
Monday's & Friday's are our busiest days and 4pm is consistently our busiest hour, followed closely by 1pm, 2pm & 3pm. Something abouts weekday afternoons... couldn't imagine whath that might be ?!?
Cheers, Pete

Hi Pete,
Thanks for the reply. You stats seem to tie in exactly with what I am seeing.
As you say, Saturday is down on Mon-Fri and then Sunday is even quieter again.
Cheers - good luck with taxinumber

Night Owl,
I think Trev was referring to Joe Public users as the site is targeted at consumers not the trade. Certainly I was...

Hi,
Yes, Pete is correct. The majority of my users are Joe Public.
I *think*.
