A man has appeared before magistrates charged with causing more than £5,000 damage to a taxi and subjecting its driver to racial abuse in a sustained attack in Northampton which lasted more than half-an-hour. Luke Benjamin D'Avilar, aged 20, of Gurston Rise, in Rectory Farm, pleaded not guilty to three separate charges relating to the attack, which took place in Crestline Court, Goldings, in the early hours of September 6. The case was adjourned for the preparation of reports.
