A Norfolk market town taxi firm believes it may have been targeted by someone with a grievance after three of its vehicles have been attacked by vandals.
Julie Bullimore, manager of the Fakenham-based Courtesy Cabs, said the incidents had given the firm a bad start to the New Year after part of its premises and the vehicles were covered with white and orange paint.
The incidents happened overnight between Sunday, December 30 and the morning of New Year's Eve . Paint had been thrown over the back door of the firm's premises at Bridge Street, Fakenham.
Two of the firm's vehicles, a Peugeot 307 and a silver Ford transit mini bus, parked on the town's High Terrace had paint thrown over them. A third vehicle, also a Peugeot 307, parked on Salmon Way was also covered in paint.
Ms Bullimore said it had been an upsetting start to the New Year for the firm and the paint had damaged the bodywork of the vehicles. The exact cost of the damage is not yet known.
“We think that whoever was responsible for vandalising our cars may have been trying to get back at us for some reason. We are still able to use the vehicles but have not been able to get all the paint off,” said Ms Bullimore.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the vicinity of where the vehicles were parked.
