I have looked at the Auriga Online system, seems like it has got everything you would need to start up.

TAXIMASTER2 Taxi booking dispatch software www.taxi-booking-dispatch-software.co.uk It is not web based so its not reliant on any internet connection (always going down if you live in the sticks) and is very robust and very cheap!

Doesn't the taximaster system rely on sms though. I have seen it before and it seemed like it had too many limitations.

I doubt it, it new. Their website is quite informative.www.taxi-booking-dispatch-software.co.uk It is SMS based but does not use 'web based' SMS.The avantage seeming to be that it sends from a mobile phone attached to the PC. With web based texts costing 10p per message it can work out costing thousands a year in texts alone for your average taxi outfit Taximaster2 using a mobile phone with a text package could save a year.

As to the limitations - what where you thinking?

As anyone who saw watchdog this week would agree, using a system based on sms is risky as even though phone companies advertise unlimited sms or unlimited data they are all subject to a fair use policy. Some phone companies limit is 3000 texts per month which would last no time at all messaging each driver around 300 times a week. Thats before you even consider using the customer text back service. Also what about additional gps charges? its not a dispatch system but a messaging service and if you were going to go down that route there is no need to move beyond radio pen and paper.

Please don't suggest an iphone app is on a par with IVR, if so why do companies invest millions on this technology. I phone app booking is basically internet booking. Please don't be fooled by the marketing!!!
