Taxi-wait man broke window in frustration
A man who became frustrated when the taxi he had ordered failed to arrive smashed the window of a cab out of frustration.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Stephen Adam Colquhoun lost his temper after seeing numerous people getting into vehicles from the same firm he had ordered a taxi from.
He argued with the driver of one such vehicle after a couple got into the car he thought should have been taking him home.
Colquhoun, 25, of Bolton Road, Blackburn, admitted criminal damage. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £120 compensation and £60 costs.
Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said the incident took place on Darwen Street and was seen by a police officer.
Rachel Adamson, defending, said Colquhoun believed the people who got in the taxi were being put before him and his friends.
"He got into a row with the driver then lashed out as the car drove off. He didn't expect the glass to break but accepts he was entirely in the wrong."
