Hi everyone ive just found this forum.  Ive had my taxi licence for 1 year now , I had 3 points on my licence when I applied but in February 2008 I got another 3 points for going through a red light at  3.40 am which was a 50 / 50 but I didnt go to court and just paid the £60 fine and took the 3 points as another taxi driver said I would'nt win if I took it to court.  Last night at 2:30 am I was going through a set of lights that turned to amber as I went through but I did'nt want to brake hard and skid ,  a police car was pulling out of a side street a good way behind me , he was that far back it took him about 1 mile to catch up with me on a 30 mph road.  I said id done nothing wrong but they still give me a producer and conviction form to pay the fine and take another 3 points , I was'nt happy and told them id be seeing them in court as there was no way they could of judged or even be close enough to see if I went through the light on amber / red.  If found guilty I will have to go in a meeting with my local council because I have 9 points on my licence however my 1st 3 points are due to come off in November as there 3 years are up then , ive recently took a mortgage out and have 2 children to provide for ,   Ive not slept all night with worry cause im scared of my local council taking my licence of me.

My area is bad with drugs , robbery and assaults and it really p***** me of to see people like myself getting targetted by the police and the real criminals get let off

Im going to fight this case in court and would be extremely grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction on what to do 1st
