how may people do you think attended ?

im going this morning so if any of you see a bloke in his fifties in jeans, red sweat shirt and unshaven then that may be myself say hello and maybe we can have a chat over a drink about the short falls of the trade etc...

i think we should be having a trade exhibition some where along the M4 corridor or why not on the south coast ?

no visitors hardly but normally wednesday is better i heard. the advertisers on the stands far out weighed the punters 3 to 1
only good thing there was the new cctv camera Jubilee have on their vehicles.

i'm going to the NEC next May as i saw some flyers advertising a trade show there next may. better location by miles in view with its own railway station etc. and it surprised me that it wasnt phm doing it but an independent company

the jubilee cctv is an excellent bit of kit. its an oversized rear view mirror and theres 4 cameraswhich are all infra red. 2 cover outside front one outside rear and 2 inside the cab, theres no panic buttons and are contiously on record and thats vision and sound recording onto a hard drive so no messy tapes etc and its fully digitised for security. as long as the car ignition is on then its recording.

there trying all been well but no definite yet that some eareas hopefully all can have it installed for free

as long as the driver as a small screen behind the driver which plays adverts. theres no outlay for the driver as the adverts pay for it and if a customer doesnt want the adverts on they can be turned off.

it will depend on the licensing areas whether its ok. but if they give the advert ok then you get the cctv for free.

best camera by far on the market place and the picture quality is as good as any hi def modern tv.

it may be able if required to be priced into your purchase price of your vehicle as a fitted option at around £5 a paymet hidden into your finance on the purchase overall so its something you dont have to pay a lump out for in one hit.

sandown in september was where phm used to have 1 but they got kicked out from there and wembley cost them £25,000 allegedly if the rumours are correct and patons got their stand for free which the other advertises heard about and phm had trouble appeasing everyone allegedly as rumour as it.

as anyone seen the flyers for the NEC for next may 2008 half term

going wednesday lunch time will give you my verdict 2morrow. i always think its a good show but its always been the drivers not giving it the backing by turning up that ruins it. we all whinge about getting info about whats available then dont go and find out.
maybe if they could split the uk into quarters and rotate the show and do 2 a year so each area got one every 2 years then that might help.

the new version of the E7 by cab direct is sooooo uuuglllllyyy it just isnt practical either as it looks so big and when in drivers seat theres so many blindspots especially if at junctions etc and reversing as a couple of serious blind spots. its not designed for what cab direct are trying to sell into to ......... the taxi trade. its got a big thumbs down from me

and where was the punters ? more people there who were exibiting than cabbies. bet there was 400 all day if they were lucky
bet its on a smaller scale next year

i've heard only 1100 went over the two days thats only 550 per day. thats abysmal. thought us the the trade wanted to push for safety and here was an ideal opportunity to speak to various licensing and manufacturers and suppliers to make our issues heard and what WE WANT in the trade.
