11 May 2007 9:33 PM Alert

applied for my Private Hire licence on wednesday this week and i was then  been informed could take about 4 to 6 weeks for CRB checks be returned.

i've never done anything or been in trouble at anytime and certainly have no police record or past to fear. so why so long ?
i decided a while ago that  i'd plate the car i already own once I get everything back, I was gob smacked by the cost of insurance  best quoteup to now is 2650 tpft i might have to sell the car to pay the premium  private insurance cost me on same car £417 how can that be justified ?

if anyone can recomend or point me in right direction of insurance, equipment etc please leave it below.

much appreciated

The CRB takes that long depending upon the time of the year, heading toward summer is always a pain.

The insurance differs from area to area and from firm to firm. Your best getting a trade magazine and phoning around.

If your PH then the NHPA maybe able to help you.
