I do have a few other wheels in motion, to try and show people the answers how to improve our trade. 

I mean if I was allowing my loved ones to travel by taxi I would like to think the driver was trained to very high standards and could observe the road and react in a way his actions could preserve there life if a situation occurred, where a "L" driver may simply not have the edge / knowledge to respond and react to the same situation to avoid a fatality.

Do you agree the general publics safety would be increased by having drivers trained to a high standard ?
Terry "such stunts" ?? The idea revolves around public safety ! And it can do no more than improve safety and raise standards within the trade.
You seem very negative towards an idea that could in the long term preserve life..
Is that because the GMB is no part of the creation of the original idea ?

This country's citizens has never been as well off under Mrs Thatchers Government.
She allowed people to get out there and make DECENT money and improve there lifestyles.

I wish them days were back ! That was the days when Britain was Britain and we could hold our heads high because we were proud to live here.
Look at the present day !!! There has never been numbers people wanting to leave the country, so whats happened  there ? Its called LABOUR thats what happened.

Mrs T shook Britain's tree and dragged it kicking and screaming into the emerging globalization. 
She created opportunities and allowed enterprise to escape the trappings of unionism, defeatism and poverty. 
She prepared the UK for the 21st century.
And then Labour came along and really did a good job of "wrecking Britain"

My family background is working class. She showed us that they didn't have to settle for second best but we could set ourr sights as high as we wished. 
She created the culture and environment that allowed people to live there dreams.
She gave the country the kick-up-the-arse it needed.
She was right to curb union power. The Sixties and Seventies was a long-running saga of union power ruining companies and consequently the national economy. 
Her Employment Acts reshaped working conditions and tipped the balance of power away from the unions who seemed intent on bringing the country to its knees. 
The only people who disliked her were the lazy ones who expect everything for nothing.
I know all the shit about the printing industry and the northern mining communities, and the hang-ups people have round here are pathetic.
She started the creation of a prosperous Britain, and if people got out there and "tried" the opportunities were there instead of sitting around moaning on..( I think she used the term "moaning minnies" )
Thatcher made us realize if you work hard, you succeed. If individuals succeed, then so does the country. 
So thats my opinion ( Not posted to start world war 3 on here just simply my views )...
Margaret Thatcher love her or hate her thats up to you but I would have her back in power now.

So enough of the politics because if we keep banging on about it we will begin to argue like kids.
Everyone has there views on politics ! They differ so much ! no resolution could be achieved  by posting on a forum. We will do better keeping political thought at bay.

The petition stunt was naive in the extreme , and will undoubtedly damage that cause!

" WHY TERRY because the GMB did not start it ? are you not capable of seeing that this whole idea is to protect the safety of the general public ? It should not be Union related mate....this affects people outside the GMB as well you know, so why don't you drop your silly status for just one moment until you sign the petition and for once DO SOMETHING THAT REALLY COUNTS.
OR HOLD ON ...Its me thats wrong...Of course every member of the public should have a moral duty to join the GMB....Or at least Terry must think that way.
